Extension creates four levels of spacious living in Hampshire Victorian villa

This handsome Victorian villa was a bit too small for this Hampshire family, so they approached Absolute Architecture to help them add some much needed space.

Absolute Architecture created four additional levels within a rear extension. The extension provided the family with a well-proportioned kitchen family room, two additional floors of bedroom space above and a basement level. In the basement of the extension, Absolute Architecture tucked in a nifty games room.

Location:  Overton, Hampshire

Materials: A traditional approach was applied to this period home, with brickwork and joinery carefully matched to existing details. A green oak enclosure to the side provides a light and airy access to the basement.

Clever aspects: Accommodating bats and children together in the loft space required a bit of ingenuity!

We love: The relaxed and exuberant quality of the main family space works beautifully with the collection of artefacts from this family’s travel. An orange kitchen can be pretty brave, yet worked a treat.
